Drug Delivery to the Lungs Conference (DDL)

DDL provides an annual forum for scientists, academics, clinicians, regulatory and industry specialists involved in developing medicines for inhalation. DDL2017 will have five themed sessions each with a combination of invited and submitted lectures given by experts in the field of inhalation and students working to advance respiratory science.

Emerging Scientist Award – New for 2017

Deadline: 30th June 2017

Recognising significant scientific accomplishment or innovation during the early stages of an individual’s career in inhalation science.

We invite all researchers from across the globe working in inhalation science from academia, industry, public service or other scientific establishments to apply, with the winner receiving a Commemorative Award, £1,000 in prize money and an invitation to present the DDL Emerging Scientist Award Lecture based on their work at this years’ DDL2017 Conference.

Areas of particular interest for DDL2017 include:

Inhaled Therapy in Special Populations

Delivery of aerosol medicines to patients at the extremes of life (neonates, paediatrics, the elderly), patients with poor capacity to use inhalers, concomitant diseases, ventilated patients, etc.

Emerging Therapeutics and Novel Respiratory Medicines

New and repurposed drugs, novel formulations and drug combinations, generic inhalers and innovative inhaled treatments based on advances in clinical science and respiratory medicine.

Inhalation Devices and Aerosol Science

Novel inhaler technology, new devices and performance enhancements.  New or novel methods for aerosol generation, measurement and characterisation.

Modelling and Simulations in Inhalation Science

The application of in silico methods to any aspects of inhaled drug development, including discovery and lead compound optimisation, molecular and particulate interactions, aerosol dynamics, lung deposition and pharmacokinetics.

It is essential that you adhere to the Abstract Guidelines and only use the Abstract Template when submitting an abstract to DDL2017.  No other versions will be accepted.
