Aerosol Society Code of Conduct
The aerosol Society is committed to providing a safe and inclusive community that fosters open and respectful dialogue and the exchange of scientific ideas. By joining the Society and attending events, members are agreeing to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Members and attendees will respect everyone regardless of their age, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, nationality, political affiliation, health, caring responsibilities, physical appearance, disability or educational background. Furthermore, we will also avoid language and behaviour which reinforces discrimination or repression based on any of these attributes.
All participants in Aerosol Society events are expected to treat others with respect and consideration and refrain from any form of discrimination, harassment or retaliation. This can include intimidating behaviour or language, inappropriate jokes or comments, unwanted attention, stalking or the display of offensive images.
Speakers are expected to uphold standards of scientific integrity and professional ethics. This includes notifying conference leadership in advance of the meeting about any possible conflicts of interest. Comments and feedback to speakers should be given in a respectful and constructive manner, even when differences there are differences in scientific viewpoint.
If you feel unhappy or uncomfortable with the conduct of others at Aerosol Society events, please talk to any of the organisers or contact us at [email protected]. Your comments will be taken seriously and acted upon in confidence. Anyone that does not treat others with the respect and tolerance that we all deserve, may be asked to leave.
