Focus Meeting 8, ‘Recent Advances in Aerosol Measurement Technology’ was held at The Royal Institution, London on the 5th April.
Notably, many non-members joined our member delegates to share and interact with many superb presentations, both oral and poster and also relished the opportunity to discuss the latest technology and techniques with our industry exhibitors whilst in the heart of the Faraday museum.
Our talks from our plenary speakers, Jose Luis-Jimenez and Neil Donahue were particularly revelatory and we learnt amongst lots of other things that ‘some organic aerosols are crunchy when dry, but they are all gooey when wet?!’ The atmosphere was great all day and as some of our delegates commented: ‘Thanks for organising such a good day’, ‘the day was useful and enjoyable’, and ‘it’s been great – I enjoyed it a lot’.
We would like to congratulate the winners of the meetings Best Poster Contribution – Robert Nishida University of Cambridge and the Best Oral Contribution – Simone Pieber Paul Scherrer Institut, Switzerland and also thank Cambustion for kindly sponsoring these prizes. These winning abstracts along with all the others from the conference can be found on our past abstracts page in the members area.
Thank you to our exhibitors, Biral, Cambustion and TSI for their valuable sponsorship, participation and contribution to this event.
