Formation of soot particles in biomass combustion

Experimental studies have been conducted into the formation of soot particles from the combustion of the liquid biomass pyrolysis products, furfural, anisole and eugenol [1] and two liquid petroleum fuels, n-heptane and n-decane. The experiments involved measurements of the relative smoking tendency of the biomass components compared to the n-hydrocarbons.
