Most cross-country services to Birmingham arrive at New Street Station. Up to six trains an hour depart for the University on the cross-city line (ten minutes to University station, final destination Longbridge or Redditch). The centre of the main campus is a five-minute walk from University Station.
Surrounded by the suburbs of Selly Oak, Edgbaston and Harborne, the campus is easily accessible by bicycle or on foot from any of these locations and as part of our commitment to sustainable living, we encourage the use of local cycle routes.
Use the Walkit.com urban walking route planner to get a route map between any two points, including your journey time, calorie burn, step count and carbon saving. It’s quick, free, healthy and green.
Delegates and hotel residents can enjoy free parking in the Edgbaston Hotel & Conference Centre car park.
Please ensure you obtain a parking permit from hotel reception upon arrival and clearly display in your vehicle.
Please be advised that enforcement procedures are in place in all University parking areas and penalty notices will be issued to all vehicles that fail to comply with parking regulations.
Birmingham International Airport has direct flights from locations in the UK, as well as from the USA, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.
At the Edgbaston Hotel, the landscaped grounds have been thoughtfully planned with access in mind, with step-free alternative routes, slopes at appropriate gradients, and clear lighting and waymarking to enhance visibility. Disabled parking bays are available. Level access into the main hotel and conference centre is adjacent to the parking bays, via automatic sliding doors. A lift will take you to the first-floor rooms.
Level access is provided into Hornton Grange via the new extension to the rear of the building. Due to the historic nature of Garth House, accessibility adjustments are limited; however level access is available via the rear of the building. Both houses have accessible bathroom facilities and lifts.
Accessible bedrooms with adapted en-suite bathrooms are also available – just ask for more information when you’re making a booking. And if there’s anything else you need, please contact Sonia Mills [email protected]
