A STOCHASTIC APPROACH TO HETEROGENEOUS NUCLEATION

We study a stochastic model describing the process of the heterogeneous nucleation of aerosols which recovers the results of the traditional mean-field theory for large seed particles yet leads to different findings for small seed particles taking statistical fluctuations into account.
