Fundamental Problems of Evaporating droplets

Ian Eames, Mark Landeryou, Christian Klettner & George Bergeles

Droplet evaporation is important in many technological areas such as combustion where volatile fuel is injected in a hot gas or internal combustion engine and also in the transmission of air borne diseases caused by coughing, sneezing etc.

The purpose of this talk is to describe some of recent work on the profound consequence of droplet evaporation on the force and flow signature they generate, how these droplets are dispersed in a turbulent flow with application to health problems.
