Barzin Gavtash

3M UK PLC

Dr. Barzin Gavtash received his BSc, MSc and PhD in mechanical engineering – thermofluids. His PhD research was in collaboration with Chiesi Farmaceutici SpA and Loughborough University, involving CFD simulation of two-phase flashing flow evolution and droplet generation in pressurised metered dose inhaler (pMDI). After finishing his PhD in 2016, he worked as a Post-Doctoral KTP associate in collaboration with 3M UK PLC, Loughborough University and Innovate UK, on design and development of next-generation nose-to-brain drug delivery devices, until he has joined 3M in 2018 as a senior product development engineer. Barzin’s professional and research interests include applications of mathematical modelling and predictive engineering to healthcare and life sciences and he has published several scientific articles in these fields.
