In atmospheric chemistry, a detailed understanding of fundamental microscopic processes leads to more and more accurate predictions and forecasts of macroscopic events. In this respect, the structure of ice particles play an important role with respect to the kinetics of several processes [1,2]. In this contribution, we present the influence of UV light on different ice structures adsorbed on Cu(111). Similar ice structures are known to be present in clouds of the Earth’s atmosphere.
