Using fullerenes and metals in PMF-SP-AMS: A Case Study

The High-Resolution Soot Particle Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (HR-SP-AMS) instrument combines the electron ionization aerosol mass spectrometry with continuous wave laser vaporization to characterize the major mass spectral features of the different types of refractory carbonaceous soot particles (rBC). Along with measuring rBC and its coatings, the HR-SP-AMS also has an ability to detect different kinds of metals and an rBC subcomponent in the form of fullerenes. In this case study, the soot data was collected by using HR-SP-AMS during Guy Fawkes Night 2014.
