Context: Basically, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) are battery-powered personal vaporizers. ENDS provide a uniquely appealing means of obtaining airborne nicotine. As ENDS do not burn organic matter, as conventional cigarettes do, they have been found to decrease the amount of almost all harmful constituents of tobacco smoke. Currently, nicotine containing products are regulated by the Tobacco Products Directive 2014/40/EU and the Medicinal Products Directive 2001/83/EC. However, ENDS stating medical claims (such as products used for smoking cessation programs) are required to comply with the Medical Devices Directive 93/42/ECC
