Two research cruises were completed in the north-east Atlantic targeting high wind conditions. Measurements of aerosol size spectra were obtained using optical spectrometer probes and particle counters, and composition was measured using a Thermal Volatility System (TVS) and ATOFMS. Simultaneous meteorological measurements were obtained using an automatic weather station. The variation of aerosol composition with wind speed and position is presented here and the relative contributions from source regions investigated. The estimated contribution to radiative forcing from the observed aerosol populations is also presented.
