High-speed condensing flows of pure steam in nozzles and turbines provide a fascinating area of aerosol research embracing fundamental science and important industrial engineering
applications. This review concentrates on areas of particular interest to the author and his colleagues at the Whittle and Hopkinson Laboratories in the Cambridge University Engineering
