Dynamic measurements of crystallisation and dissolution of individual suspended sodium chloride particles

natalie armstrong

This work focuses on the dissolution dynamics of sodium chloride particles formed in different drying conditions. Recent work found that drying conditions influence the morphology of a crystal. Additionally, the starting concentration of a saline droplet affects the final size of the crystal. Sodium chloride makes an ideal model system to explore these processes for the first time.
