The Dynamic Filter Processing Chamber (DFPC) is an off-line technique used to investigate the ice nucleation of aerosol particles collected onto a filter. The device has been employed under several field campaigns and intercomparison studies. The DFPC is a powerful instrument for the analysis of the deposition and the condensation-freezing activation modes of fine and coarse particles. Measurements made to proof the efficiency of this technique as well as some advantages with respect to other instruments will be given.
