We present an Aerosol Gas Exchange System (AGES). This instrument enables exchanging the carrier gas of an aerosol, while limiting the influence on the suspended particles. We provide a mathematical model, multiphysical simulations, and experimental data with a focus on the removal of gaseous compounds that are abundant in engine exhaust. Our results demonstrate the potential of the AGES for engine exhaust conditioning and amongst many other possible applications.
