2019 Aerosol Image Competition - The Aerosol Society

Aerosol Science is a wide and varied field, but what does aerosol science mean to you? Could you capture your science in a single photograph?

Selecting last year’s winners was no easy task for our judges, you can view their final choices below.

This year’s entries will be displayed at the Fundamentals of Aerosol Science, 6th November 2019 and the Annual Aerosol Science Conference, 7th November 2019 where our delegates at these events will be asked to vote for their favourite image.

Last year’s winning entries

: ‘Biogenic aerosol particle collected in the Leeds University research Farm, scanned under a Scanning Electron Microscope.’ Alberto Sanchez Marroquin & Alexander Kulak (Winner)

: ‘Canterbury Cathedral rising out of the springtime city smog. Weather conditions are keeping particles at near-ground level and highlighting the City’s battle with air pollution.’ Joanna Stephens (Runner up)

: ‘Optical Scattering? It’s all about the Angle of Incidence’ Ian Bennett (Runner up)

Entrants are encouraged to submit an image with an aerosol science connection for a chance to win:

One first prize of £100

Two runners-up prizes of £50 each

The closing date for the competition is Monday 30th September 2019

To enter:

You must be a member of The Aerosol Society
Upload a photograph you have taken which demonstrates a link to aerosol science
Provide a caption explaining how the photograph is connected to aerosol science
